Dear Brethren,

A picture is worth a thousand words. The true spirit of the Masonic principles of Brotherly Love and Relief can be explained time and time again, but are most impressive when observed in action. Recently, our Senior Deacon, Brother Robert Dahl, suffered a personal tragedy with the loss of his father. The loss of a loved one is an experience that we all must face in the course of our lives. With very short notice, the members of North Arlington Lodge, their wives, and members of several other Masonic organizations familiar with Bro. Dahl's situation organized a repast for the family. Not a gourmet dinner, not a great monetary expense, but a donation of time and effort. The Masonic Club of Lyndhurst generously donated the use of their hall that evening. The efforts of the members' wives in preparing food and setting up the room that evening is proof positive that the "Masonic train of thought" often extends beyond its members to their families. This is truly Freemasonry in motion. Bro. Dahl and his family seemed overwhelmed by our efforts, and could not thank us enough, but we were only living up to our responsibility to help, aid, and assist a Brother. Many thanks to all who participated that evening. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Fraternally,
James T. Lind
