Master's Message
December 2004

Dear Brethren,

Each new Master coming into the Lodge brings his own personality and ideas with him and then as the year winds down to its inevitable conclusion, it becomes a time for that Master to reflect on his past year. Did he always do the right thing? Is it a better Lodge now than when he was installed? Has he left things in place so the incoming Master will have a smooth transition into office?

So many thoughts and concerns. And yet, looking back and thinking of all the past Masters, one comes to the conclusion that no matter how good or how unpopular a Master's decision may have been, it must be remembered that it is not the Master that makes the Lodges, but the Lodge that makes the Master and it is the Lodge itself with all its traditions, that is the cornerstone and bulwark of Masonry.

I would be remiss if I didn't take this opportunity to express my appreciation to all the Brothers who served as officers this past year. Your unfailing support and encouragement made my work so much easier.

Thank you.

Fraternally,

Robert James Rawding
Worshipful Master
