Master's Message
October 2003

"When with faltering steps..." What an apt phrase this is when first attempting to lay down designs on the trestleboard for the craft to follow in the fothcoming year. Fortunately there are precedents that can be followed, and these, mixed with fresh ideas can make for a very interesting new year.

All proposed line officers for 2004 have been contacted and have accepted their positions, so we will be entering the new year with a full complement of officers and every chair occupied. We will have an eclectic combination of young enthusiasm and mature experience.

Traditionally, we can look forward to Master Mason Night and Past Masters' Night. We are also planning a Ladies' Night where the wives and lady friends of the members are invited into the Lodge.

During the year, various degree teams visit the Masonic Districts. These teams, such as the Indian Degree Team, Royal Canadian Mounties, and our favorite Kilties, are always interesting to see and if schedules permit, the Lodge can visit where ever they do their work. Trips to see the Garibaldi Initiation and the Burlington Home are also being considered. Additionally, there have been several suggestions by members that sound intriguing.

We also look forward to the annual Masonic Convention in Atlantic City. Hopefully, new rules governing the Lodge and Convention attendance will be in place before the Convention. When we mix in the Grand Lodges of Instruction, the District Lodges of Instruction and the initiation, passing and raising of our own candidates, it promises to be a full and busy year.

Fraternally,

Robert Rawding, JW
