Master's Message
November 2001

Dear Brethren,

I recently visited another Lodge in a different District. A friend, whom I work with, was going through his Entered Apprentice Degree along with his brother. As I arrived, I received a very warm welcome from ALL the brethren. Accompanying me this evening was OUR Youngest Entered Apprentice, James Lind. We were informed that there would be a small delay due to a funeral service they had to perform nearby. We were invited to come along, and did so. Our EA was impressed and a little confused about where and what to do. But it all went well just the same. Afterwards, we went back to the Lodge and performed the degree. The two brothers coming in at the same time were very nice to see and whatched them follow in their father's footsteps. When all was over, we were then invited to stay for collation, again everyone was very cordial.

You are probably wondering what I'm getting at here. Well brethren, when we visit other Lodges, or other Lodges visit us, we should always meet, act and part like a Mason. Treat all brothers like we have known them for years, the same way we would like to be treated. Respect should be shown to all. We should brush up on our degree work and look at cipher once in a while to stay sharp. Ask the other brethren if they would like to participate in our meeting, or we in theirs. There is always a chair that needs to be filled. And lastly, on your own way out the door, shake a few hands, if not all, you will not be forgotten.

Lastly brethren, in a few weeks we will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day. With all that is happening in our world, let us stop for a moment and reflect and be thankful for what were are blessed with. No matter how much or how little it may be, it can be more than someone else might have. Our health, our family and our friends cannot be measured. They are irreplaceable. Enjoy the holiday and God bless you.

Fraternally,
Edward Gasior
